A Little Lush Parcel in the mail….

20140925_193432

Hello Lovelies 🙂

I was lucky enough to receive a parcel from my friend in the UK this week. A nice little package of Lush goodies!! Some of which I haven’t seen in Australia and I don’t think are available here (as far as I know) so it was a bit exciting!! Can I just say how jealous I am of  the Lush Kitchen range that is available in the UK? When is Lush going to bring that to us Aussie? When Lush??

20140925_193529

So here is a rather unplanned mini UK Lush haul 🙂 I’m not going to put prices (sorry) since they are in pounds. Do take into consideration that they may not be looking their best due to the long haul flight.. I do like the look of the new range items and I am hoping that they release some of these out here. Maybe for Christmas??

Granny Takes a Dip

Named after the Purple Gang song ” Granny Takes a Trip” which explains the rather psychedelic colours of this bath bomb. It is ginger, pepper and lemon scented. I am really looking forward to what colour the bath goes with this one. The scent is very “Lush” and not overly powerful. It definitely is a more masculine/clean scent and not flowery at all. I do like the name  too 🙂

D-Fluff Strawberry Shaving Soap

” De-Fluffed and delightful! We’ve whipped up our shaving soap with fresh strawberries, golden syrup, rosehip oil and cocoa butter to leave you silky smooth and smelling sweet”

Oooh. I have really liked the other shaving products that Lush have. I have mentioned in a previous post that I regularly borrow my husband’s Dirty Shaving Cream. It’s just so nice. I have no doubt that this will produce similar results and smell just a little more girly. It is quite thick, I would say a little thicker that Dirty. A bit marshmallow like. It does smell a lot like the Strawberry Feels Forever massage bar. I will give a proper review of this in the future.

Strawberry Feels Forever ( RRP: AU$13.50)

I’m kind of surprised that this made it without melting. It does look like it has a little, but hey looks like it recovered! This one is available in Australia, but it will obviously go nicely with my D’Fluff Shaving Soap. I like the massage bars, so this is really nice. One I have always been curious about, but never actually purchased. That’s what presents are all about right?

New Charity Pot Hand and Body Lotion

A reformulated Charity pot! This is a little 10g size pot. It has a much more floral scent than the normal Charity Pot, which has a much more chocolately in  smell. A little bit lighter in texture too. It does smell delish. I think that if you are not a fan of Charity Pot (as it is at the moment) you might like this one. Not quite as heavy and like a said more floral. Plus all the money (minus GST/VAT) goes to the Charity on the lid. So you can feel all sorts of good about it!

That’s all for today. I is really fun to be able to try out some of these before they become available here. I might even have to put a request in for the African Paradise Body Conditioner I think! Hope you are all having an amazing day. Let me know if you have tried any of these in the comments below. What did you think? Any you are looking forward to trying?

Clicks around Melbourne

Hello Lovelies,

I know I have been a little slack on the posting front lately, so I though I would post a few photos from the last month or so…..

20140711_16200320140824_19071720140824_213424

It was my birthday in August and I did get spoiled. I am a little obsessed with Kikki K Live Bright range at the moment! Champagne, cupcakes and great company! Can’t ask for much more!

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week is fast becoming one of my favourite weeks of the year. I only wish I hadn’t been working so much so I could have seen a bit more of it. There was lots of fun free events happening around the city, as well as all the fancy fashion shows, which I didn’t make it to this year. Next year!!

I did try out the pop up bar in Swanston Street and got some free goodies from the market there. To be honest, the bar was ok. Cute and had the weather been nicer it would have been pleasant to sit there and watch a show. Drinks were expensive and I feel there are so many more amazing and fun bars to go to in the city.

I did take advantage of the free offerings that were going on at Melbourne Emporium. Lots of free food, drink and shopping discounts to be had. There was a little pop up bar which had some free food to try (although only 1 item per person) and I think some drinks in the evening. I tried one of  Adrian Zumbo’s salted caramel Macaroons. Yum!!  A pop up beauty bar and giant colouring board were just a few of the free activities on offer. I did enjoy playing “find the shops offering free Champagne” though.

Spring is here!!! You can just feel the weather warming up (for a few days and then it goes cold again just to remind us that it can change it’s mind!!!) So I got a little snap happy. Sunny blue sky days, it’s no longer pitch black at 5 o’clock and it’s time to get out and explore some new drinking holes…..

I can’t even explain how excited I am about the approach of spring and summer. The city comes alive with activities, night markets and events. Plus warmer weather is much better for rooftop bars and beer gardens.

I hope you enjoyed this little post and are having an amazing day!!!

Lola Berry’s Raw Rose & Raspberry Tart.

Hello Lovelies 🙂

The other week my little brother came around and we had a little paleo food inspired baking session. Now I am not into any hard core paleo eating diet at all, but I am looking to improve the way I eat and I like having some yummy yet healthy treats I can whip up. I want my diet to be a bit more clean eating than it currently is.

I recently purchased Lola Berry’s book The 20/20 Diet Cookbook and have been looking for an opportunity to try out some of the desserts. I ended up making the Raw Rose and Raspberry Tart. Which was delicious!  My husband took it to work with him to share at morning tea and it went down a treat. The best comment I think was from one of the guys who said that it didn’t even taste like it was healthy. Winning.

IMG_20140829_194639

It is dairy and gluten free and actually fairly simple to make. The hardest part is probably just being organized enough to let the cashews soak over night. Even then you can get away with only a couple of hours. Other than that you only need a blender/food processor (Not even a really good one at that, I just used an el cheapo one from Kmart) and a cake tin. Now the longer you blend the cashews and the better quality the food processor, the smoother the results. It won’t effect the taste, just makes look more like cheesecake.

I will mention that you do need to keep it in the fridge and eat it as soon as possible. I don’t think that will be too hard though!!

You can find the link to the recipe here. Lola’s book is available at good bookstores in Oz or online from here website (link above).

Hope you enjoyed this quick little post! Have an amazing day!!!

Hauling Time!!!

Hello Lovelies,

Well it has been a little while, so I felt I was due for a little Lush/ Make up Haul! I think I mentioned that I changed my hair colour recently and what’s the point of having a new colour if you can’t use it as an excuse to buy new products to try? Exactly, no point! Also it was my birthday recently so I had a little extra moolah to burn.

So here is what I bought:

20140915_121317

Daddy – O Shampoo

RRP: $12.50/100g, $22.95/250g, $32.95/500g

Lush’s purple shampoo used to keep the brassiness out of Blonde or Grey hair. Using Violets and Lemons for shine. It smells a little heady and very sweet. It reminds me of lollies, but not in a bad way and I don’t find it too over powering. It is very purple and I am interested to see how it stands up to the salon purple shampoo I have. Or is my hairdresser can tell the difference….

20140915_12105120140915_121103

Blousey Shampoo

RRP:$25.95/240g.

I will admit that the first few times I tried this I didn’t like it. I mean I liked the smell. It smells amazing, but it didn’t win me over. I decided to give it another go since my hair is a little more fragile at the moment and so far I am actually really liking the results. It is made from bananas and is quite thick in consistency, but I find I don’t need to use much.

20140915_12102420140915_121034

Turkish Delight Shower Smoothie

RRP:$32.95/200g

Happy Birthday to Me! Yes this was a birthday present to myself as I have been wanting to purchase it for awhile. Beautiful Rose scent!!!

20140915_121007

King of Skin

RRP: $12.95/95g

Another one of Lush’s products I have been wanting to try for a little while. Since spring is now here, it’s a good time to get my skin into  top shape for summer! King of Skin is a solid Body Butter that you apply to wet skin.

20140915_121128

 Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask

RRP: $16.95/75g

Love Love Love this!! My face has been feeling a bit yuck so I picked this up to fix it. Works a treat. If you haven’t tried this, run don’t walk to your nearest Lush store!!

20140915_121017

SAMPLE : H’Suan Wen Hua Hair Treatment

RRP: $19.95/225g

Another product I have been wanting to try. I just used this today and I can honestly say that it feels AMAZING. I can’t say the scent is my favourite ever, but since you put this in first then shampoo your hair it doesn’t really matter. Come payday I will definitely be adding this to more hair care routine. Leaves the hair so lovely and soft. I wish I had longer hair just so I could enjoy the results more.

I also went  to Mecca Maxima to pick up some new products.

20140915_121220

Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream

RRP: $52

I am in need of a new BB/CC Cream and this was the one recommend to me by the girl at Mecca Maxima. I find it hard to match my skin tone as I am pale, but not pasty. I also can’t be bothered to mix foundations etc. This is a good match and looks dewy on the skin. I’ll see how I go and whether I will repurchase. So far so good though.

20140915_121231

NARS Larder than Life long-wear eyeliner in VIVA APPIA.

My first NARS purchase! Which I am a bit exited about. I haven’t had the chance to wear it yet, it is a nice bronzy rose gold colour. A little fancy for work. A nice colour all the same. Not too out there, but a bit more interesting than just brown or black.

That’s all from me today! Let me know if you have tried any of these product’s and what you thought or if there are any in particular you would like me to review. Have an amazing day!!

Lust Have It Box August

20140904_12153020140904_112050

Hello Lovelies!

I have to say that I am actually impressed with the Lust Have It Box for this month! Well last month’s really since I got these really late! It’s a bit like the beauty goddess knew what I was missing! Ok slight exaggeration, but I am still happy with it all. Especially since this month is the “birthday box” and August is my birthday month so hooray!

Ok, lets get down to business! ( To defeat the huns…. anyone else? No just me? ok..)

20140904_115318

BioElixia BodyShaper Stretch Mark Diminishing Cream (RRP: $39/125ml)

“Improve the visible appearance of stretchmark’s, skin texture and discoloration with the feeling of enhanced skin smoothness and softness”

This is a full sized product and I know it is not perhaps the most exciting thing to receive.   However I am looking forward to trying it out (and hopefully getting rid of a few stretch marks….) and seeing how it compares to Bio Oil. Which is much cheaper and works quite well.

20140904_115420

Eleven Australia Miracle Hair Treatment (RRP: $24.95/125ml)

Another full sized product so can’t complain about that. I have a bit of a thing for hair treatments at the moment, so I am looking forward to trying this out. Especially since I have just dramatically changed the colour of my hair, so it is in need of a little extra love.

To me this sounds a lot like the Moroccan Oil type products that are so readily available now for hair. It is meant to add shine, smoothness and softness as well as strengthening hair and preventing spilt ends. I do love my Moroccan Oil, so I will be interested to see if this is as good or better.

20140904_115342

Essenzza Fuss Free Naturals Facial Cleansing Wipes (RRP:$6.95)

I have seen these cleansing wipes around and I do really like the almost retro design of the packaging. This is another full sized product with a bonus travel size pack. I have run out of cleansing wipes, so it’s great to have some new ones to try out.

20140904_115400

Bioderma Crealine H2O (RRP:$29.99/250ml)

“A micellar solution that cleanses impurites and removes makeup while respecting the skin’s natural balance”

I have seen this particular product on a few blogs so I am looking forward to trying it out. I did like the Garnier Micellar Water, so hopefully this will be as good or better. This is only a 20ml sample size.

20140904_122432

Mask Eyeshadow Brush Pro-Liner (RRP: $28.95)

Not going to say no to an eyeshadow brush! It seems like a reasonable brush too. However my Body Shop brush is still my favourite! It just seems to be the right size.

There were also a few vouchers included with this months box. I will be honest and say I probably won’t use most of them, but the QuickFlix voucher will definitely get some use.

That’s all for this month! I don’t think it is a bad bunch of samples to be honest and quite a few full sized samples. I will write proper reviews as I finish each product.

Hope you are having an amazing day!!

Xx.

Too Faced Shadow Insurence Review

20140814_175558

Hello Lovelies 🙂

A little look at some eye products this week! I bought this when I got the Too Faced Eye Shadow Pallete so it makes sense to me to review this in the same week.

I was a little skeptical of this product at first. When the girl at the counter was telling me about it all I could really think was “Really? Seems a bit over the top to have primer for your eye shadow….” oh how wrong I was.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer ($26.95) is now a make up staple for me. It is Too Faced’s best selling product and after using it for awhile now, I can see why.

Show Insurance basically creates a barrier between your skin (and the natural oils your skin produces)  and your eye shadow. It also evens out skin tone. It stops the eye shadow from fading, stops that thing that happens with eyeliner (you know how it ends up under your brow/top of your eye lid? or is that just me?), stops creasing and smudging.

A little goes a long way too. You only need a tiny bit of product and you can cover both eye lids. It is a creamy constancy and beige in colour. However it does dry translucent and doesn’t take long to dry.

I really love the fact that when I use this, my eyeliner stays put! Doesn’t matter what brand either. My eye shadow lasts all day and still looks good at the end of the work day. It is easy to blend any shades over the top of this product as well.

If this isn’t in your make up kit you need to add it to your collection!! I might be late on this band wagon, but I am so glad that I got on when I did!! This is a fantastic primer!

Have you used this? What did you think?

Have an amazing week!

Too Faced A’ La Mode Eye Shadow Collection Review

20140714_130023

Hello Lovelies,

My apologies for the lack of post lately. Work has been hectic and then I was sick for most of last week. Which was definitely not fun. I’m back now though and ready to give my review of these lovely eye shadows!

This is really my first purchase from Too Faced and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Especially since I have always bought eye shadows from drugstore brands like Maybelline and Revlon etc. I mean how different can they be? I’m still not sure if I can answer that question, but I do love this collection of eye shadows.

I think I mentioned in a previous post that I was tossing up between this one and the natural eye one they do. The A La Mode inspired by the French Riviera is a limited edition. The packaging is tin and nice and solid. I don’t feel super confident travelling with it, although it hasn’t come under on me yet. The magnets that hold the lid together just don’t feel as strong as they could be.

I really like the warmer tones and the pops of bright colour to choose from. The eye shadow is a lovely fine powder consistency and easy to blend. As you can see below, there are three “looks” however I find that the colours mix and match really beautifully. The collection comes with an instruction booklet (for those of you who are as clueless as I am!) which is helpful, although I find I don’t tend to use it.

20140714_130308

I tend to use the Classic and Day colours the most, with Riviera (which I generally use as a base), Cannes and Jardin being my favourites. I like to use La Croisette in the corners of my eyes just to brighten them a bit. I do like how you can build the colour so that you can have a softer look for day time or work. If I can’t be bothered with eyeliner Soleil or Cote d’ Azur are great for day or De La Me’ for a more dramatic/smoky eye look. You can  of course use the colours on their own as well.

I did try to get some swatches, but they are a bit hard to see on my pale skin! I will try and add some later.

I really love these colours and I have been having a lot of fun playing around with them. I also like that I can wear them day to day. They wear really well too. I have been using a primer underneath and I find that they will last the day this way. I tend to like gold, peachy and copper tones so this suits me perfectly.

I am really super happy with this purchase and cannot wait until I can afford another collection like this (still lusting after Urban Decay 3!!). I would definitely recommend Too Faced eye shadows and will definitely looking to add more to my make up collection.

Hope you are having an amazing day!!
