Hauling Time!!!

Hello Lovelies,

Well it has been a little while, so I felt I was due for a little Lush/ Make up Haul! I think I mentioned that I changed my hair colour recently and what’s the point of having a new colour if you can’t use it as an excuse to buy new products to try? Exactly, no point! Also it was my birthday recently so I had a little extra moolah to burn.

So here is what I bought:

Daddy – O Shampoo

RRP: $12.50/100g, $22.95/250g, $32.95/500g

Lush’s purple shampoo used to keep the brassiness out of Blonde or Grey hair. Using Violets and Lemons for shine. It smells a little heady and very sweet. It reminds me of lollies, but not in a bad way and I don’t find it too over powering. It is very purple and I am interested to see how it stands up to the salon purple shampoo I have. Or is my hairdresser can tell the difference….

Blousey Shampoo

I will admit that the first few times I tried this I didn’t like it. I mean I liked the smell. It smells amazing, but it didn’t win me over. I decided to give it another go since my hair is a little more fragile at the moment and so far I am actually really liking the results. It is made from bananas and is quite thick in consistency, but I find I don’t need to use much.

Turkish Delight Shower Smoothie

Happy Birthday to Me! Yes this was a birthday present to myself as I have been wanting to purchase it for awhile. Beautiful Rose scent!!!

King of Skin

RRP: $12.95/95g

Another one of Lush’s products I have been wanting to try for a little while. Since spring is now here, it’s a good time to get my skin into  top shape for summer! King of Skin is a solid Body Butter that you apply to wet skin.

 Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask

RRP: $16.95/75g

Love Love Love this!! My face has been feeling a bit yuck so I picked this up to fix it. Works a treat. If you haven’t tried this, run don’t walk to your nearest Lush store!!

SAMPLE : H’Suan Wen Hua Hair Treatment

RRP: $19.95/225g

Another product I have been wanting to try. I just used this today and I can honestly say that it feels AMAZING. I can’t say the scent is my favourite ever, but since you put this in first then shampoo your hair it doesn’t really matter. Come payday I will definitely be adding this to more hair care routine. Leaves the hair so lovely and soft. I wish I had longer hair just so I could enjoy the results more.

I also went  to Mecca Maxima to pick up some new products.

Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream

RRP: $52

I am in need of a new BB/CC Cream and this was the one recommend to me by the girl at Mecca Maxima. I find it hard to match my skin tone as I am pale, but not pasty. I also can’t be bothered to mix foundations etc. This is a good match and looks dewy on the skin. I’ll see how I go and whether I will repurchase. So far so good though.

NARS Larder than Life long-wear eyeliner in VIVA APPIA.

My first NARS purchase! Which I am a bit exited about. I haven’t had the chance to wear it yet, it is a nice bronzy rose gold colour. A little fancy for work. A nice colour all the same. Not too out there, but a bit more interesting than just brown or black.

That’s all from me today! Let me know if you have tried any of these product’s and what you thought or if there are any in particular you would like me to review. Have an amazing day!!

Lush Christmas in July Haul!!

Hello Lovelies 🙂

Yes I managed to get my hands on some Lush Christmas in July goodies!!! Yay!!! (not yay for my husband). There was definitely a lot of “Just take my money!!!” going on! I am most excited to get my hands on Rose Jam Shower Gel. Have to say, these things sold fast! No surprise, but after hesitating with online, I’m glad I went into Lush before work and they had almost old out of Rose Jam and Snow Fairy! At 10:30AM!!! Crazy.

So here it is. My Lush Christmas in July Haul.

Shower Gels and Body Lotions.

Rose Jam Shower Gel (RRP: $16.50/250g)

The one item I really wanted (and everybody else!). I actually got two of these, just to make sure it would last. I love rose scents, so this was a no brainer for me. I love using it with my Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner (which I still have, despite buying in March) as the scent is the same. Nice Rose scent with that Lemon cutting through it, so it’s more fresh than sweet. I just wish the larger size had been available. The Rose Bubbleron also carries this scent. So nice. Love.

Snow Fairy Shower Gel (RRP: 16.50/250g)

This has a very fun sweet scent. Also another popular one, obviously, although I prefer the Rose Jam to this for everyday use. A fun scent with a little glitter to get your shimmer on.

Celebrate Body Lotion (RRP $28.95/225g)

I love the smell of this! It’s a beautiful orange zesty, summer smell. It reminds me of a cocktail kind of thing. The lotion itself is nice and much like Charity Pot in consistency. It is quite a powerful scent, though not overbearing. It leaves my skin feeling really nice and smooth as well. My only real problem with it is that I can’t wear it with Rose Jam! You really need to decide one or the other. Having said that, it pairs perfectly with my Soap & Glory Sugar Rush Body Wash. I wish it was summer, because I feel this really is a summer product. Not that it being winter has stopped me using it!

Angel’s Delight Soap (RRP: $5.90/100g)

Ok, my piece doesn’t look as pretty as on the website, but it does smell good. It reminds me of Lush’s Miranda soap. I’m yet to use this and I would have loved to get a bit more colour through it. Maybe next time.

Bath Ballistics and Bubble Bars.

Golden Wonder Bath Ballistic (RRP: $7.50)

The bath bomb I was most excited about. I really can’t wait to use this one. It is quite large in size compared to the others and I really like the scent. Another fresh orange, lime and cognac scent. There is gold dust is on the outside as well. Is it worth it? Review to come.

Luxury Lush Pud Bath Ballistic (RRP: $6.75)

This definitely smells like Christmas, although it has the famous Twilight scent. Which is a warm comfy smell to me, though I have never used Twilight. Mine’s a little worse for wear, but it is still in one piece.

Bombardino Bath Ballistic (RRP: $5.50)

How cute is this little guy? Huh? Pretty cute. Smells amazing. It is meant to have a lemon cheesecake kind of scent, but it reminds me more of Honey I washed the Kids. Either way I could just about eat it!!. It does have cocoa butter, to soften the skin, and vanilla as well as the lemon oil.

Candy Mountain Bubble Bar (RRP:$6.50)

This reminds me of scenery in those old Christmas movies (with the stop motion puppets? Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer in particular.) although it reminds my husband of Wreck It Ralph. Either way, I’m guessing this is how those places smell. Sweet. This is the same scent as Snow Fairy. You can’t really see it in my photo, but it does have glitter all through it as well. Not a bad size and you could get a few uses out of it.

Christmas Eve Bubble Bar (RRP: $6.50)

With jasmine and ylang ylang, this is meant to be a nice relaxing bubble bar. It is meant to be a crescent moon in the night sky. I like the look of it and the smell. Makes me wish it was Christmas Eve! Coz I would love to be sitting in a bath with a glass of wine and this bubble bar! Review to come.

I didn’t get either of the Shower Jellies or the Maple Lip Balm as neither of these really appealed to me. I have heard that some new Christmas items will be out this year, so I am excited to see what is new and different.

Aqua Mirabilies Body Butter (RRP: $13.95)

Ok so not a Christmas item, but I tried this out in store and loved how smooth my skin felt. I bought one as a gift and one for myself.  I’ll let you know how it goes.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I will review items soon. Let me know if there is anything particular you want me to review or have tried yourself.

Beauty Haul!! Lush, Too Face, MAC and Benefit

Hello Lovelies 🙂

Well as you know I had a bit of a mini break and of course I need to get a few things! Well any excuse really! I’m actually quite excited because I finally got to purchase a few products that I have been lusting over.

First up Lush…

You all know how much I love Lush. Or at least you should by now! I have run out of moisturiser instead of getting my beloved Vanishing Cream (RRP: $39.95), I decided to try something slightly heavier for winter. Imperialis (RRP: $33.95).

I did have to restrain myself, but I like to get a bath bomb or two to try when I visit. Thanks to Dr Icecream and The Oxford Owl for pointing out that the Amandopondo Bubble Bar (RRP: $8.50) has the same scent as the Mother’s Day Rose Bubble Bar, which I loved, so I got that as well. I have been dying to try out a bath melt as well so I went with Ceridwen’s Cauldron (RRP:$9.95).

Amandopondo Bubble Bar

Ceridwen’s Cauldron Bath Melt

Next stop was Kit Cosmetics as I have been eyeing off one of the Too Faced Eye Shadow Collections for a little while.

I bought the Too Faced A La Mode Eyes Collection. Which is inspired by the French Riviera. I was trying to choose between this and the Natural Eyes pallet that I heard Essie Button rave about. I went with this one in the end because it is a limited editon and I like the colours better. A little more pop, plus some nice gold tones.

I also bought the Too Faced Shadow Insurance (RRP:$26.99) eye shadow primer. Which I believe is their best selling product. So I really wanted to see what the hype is about.

Because I am a sucker for deals, I bought this nail file block so that I could get the Kit: Blender Sponge for free.

I haven’t used one of these before but I have heard lots of blogger raving about the Real Techniques one. I thought I might as well try the Kit: Cosmetics version.

From Benefit Cosmetics I got their Porefessional Pro Balm. Which I got as a sample when I bought the They’re Real Liner a little while back. I liked how it made my skin look smoother and felt softer. Plus I have only really used drugstore primers so it’s nice to try a more high end product.

My first MAC Lipstick! Oh the excitement! After seeing all the reviews, colours when Bloggers have used one in LOTD posts, I now get to find out what all the fuss is about. I will actually post a proper review soon. I went for quite a bold colour choice for me. This is a MAC matte lipstick in Ruby Woo.

Ok, that is all for today. Have you tried any of these products? If so what did you think? Let me know in the comments below.

Mini Haul! Lush, Body Shop & a little Clinque

So I was in the city the other day and I couldn’t help going in to my local Lush store! I also had a lot of fun wandering around the beauty counters at Myer. It probably sounds odd, but I find explore the city so rejuvenating. The way some people feel about a trip to the country. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, I love it though. Are there any other city girls out there?

Ok so while at Lush I mostly got some samples to try. Which is one of the things I love about Lush. They are happy to give you some samples and considering that their products aren’t cheap it is a good way to make sure you have the right product.

I have been wanting to try I Love Juicy for awhile but have been a little unsure because I have heard it is quite cleansing and therefore can be a bit drying. I have been trying out a few of the Lush shampoos and I will post review of all of them soon. I got Happy Hippy Shower Gel as well. I’m after a nice refreshing everyday shower gel that isn’t too overpowering. Hopefully this fits the bill.

I absolutely love Angels on Bare Skin (review to come) but I wanted to try another of the Lush cleansers so I am trying Herbalism. I am a fan of the cleansers, but I’m looking for something to use when my skin is breaking out. My skin is generally pretty clear, but I do get hormonal/stress breakouts.

I did end up buying the Honey I Washed The Kids (RRP $8.50/100g) shower gel because I have used the soap before and just loved the scent. So yummy and warm. If you haven’t used it before it smells like toffee. I got some new products to try out which are the Grease Lightning Spot Treatment (RRP $13.95) and The Dragon’s Egg Bath Bomb (RRP $5.95).

The spot treatment I am interested to see how it works. I have tried The Body Shop tea tree oil one before and I didn’t feel it did a lot. Having used the Lush cleansers and face masks before I have been impressed with how they clear my skin up. Hopefully this will work as well as they do. The bath bomb is for kicks. I haven’t tried any of the bath bombs that dramatically change the water like this one does. It just sounds fun! It smells very fruity and citrusy.

* Just a note for the Aussie’s out there (in case you didn’t already know) the girl at Lush confirmed that the Brightside Bubble Bar will be a permanent product!!! Exciting!!!

From The Body Shop I bought their Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder (RRP $28.95) in Light Matte. I saw a good review for this on YouTube and it look nice and natural in the video. Not having much luck with bronzers in the past, I though I would give this a go. While I was at the Clinique counter the lovely lady who served me put some bronzer on and I liked how it looked. This was a bit cheaper and looked like the same colour. So I will see how I go. Has any one tried either bronzer? What did you think?

I did originally go into the Body Shop to try the new BB creams they have out. When I tried them on my skin though they were SOOO dark!!! They turned my skin almost bright orange and that was the lightest shade they had! It was really disappointing. They are similar to the L’Oreal one in that they start of white and then change colour. The Tea Tree BB cream was a much better match for all you fair skinned beauties out there! I was a bit put off by the other ones though to give it a go. I did buy a little face wash cloth though.

I had a great time at the Clinique counter! I went because they had sent me an email about the new product, the Anti-Blemish Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel (RRP: from $32). I have been sick recently and my skin has just gone haywire for reasons best known to itself. Hence all the spot treatment buying. So I got a 5 day sample of the gel. You can use it as a spot treatment or just put in on your whole face as a preventive measure.

The lady that served me was fab! She ended up doing my make up as well while she chatted about the products. On my face she used the Anti- Blemish Foundation in 01 (RRP $50), Bronzer in sun kissed 02 (RRP $48) and Chubby Stick Sheer in Two Ton Tomato (RRP$35). I have to say I really liked the look (sorry no photos) and even my husband noticed when I met up with him a few hours later. So it wore pretty well too. I think I will be purchasing the foundation and I like the chubby stick too especially since it was a braver colour than I would normally wear.

That’s all from me today! Hope you enjoyed the post and you have an amazing day 🙂

Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what you thought of them.

Lush Haul #1 and Review

I am in love. I am in the first blissful stages of this crush and I have a feeling it is going to be an ongoing affair.

In the past I have been a little bit intimidated about going into a Lush store. I think a lot of people are. I also wasn’t aware of how much stuff they had. Here I was thinking it was all soap and bath bombs piled high in bright colorful towers. Which they are. However there is so much more.

I really love Lush’s attitude and all the products are made from locally or ethically sourced ingredients. No animal testing. They are made fresh by hand. Most of the products are “naked” (no packing) or in recycled, reusable packaging. My favorite part is that when you return 5 of the black pots to a store you get a free face mask.

Ok, Haul time!!

First up: Brightside Bubble Bar.

brightside bubble

I love this. It smells fantastic. Like a mandarin dream. It makes the bath a lovely bright orange colour with fantastic bubbles!! It was a limited edition for Easter, but it is available in the “Hello Sunshine” gift pack. I’ve heard rumors that this might become a permanent product and I really hope so. Skin feels lovely and soft. You can get more than one use out of it if you cut it into smaller pieces too!

RRP: ‘Hello Sunshine” gift pack $16.95.

Ocean Salt Facial Scrub:

IMG_2469[1] “Does your face feel washed up and abandoned? Get it ship shape with coconuts and lime.”

This smells like Margarita. Need I say more? Margarita!! I thought that this would be quite a rough scrub but it’s actually quite creamy in texture. It is gentle enough for the face, but you can use it on your hot body too. It has sea salt (obviously), fresh lime, grapefruit infusion, Avocado butter and coconut oil as the main ingredients. It leaves your face feeling very smooth. I only use it once to twice a week.  It is now a staple in my skin care routine.

RRP: $22.50/120g, $34.95/250g

American Cream Conditioner:

IMG_2474[1] ” Bring all the boys to the yard with this strawberry vanilla milkshake conditioner. Double strength and extra creamy to leave your hair gorgeously soft and smelling sweet.”

I am definitely repurchasing this in the largest bottle they have. It smells divine. Not of strawberries so much. Mostly vanilla. Yum. The scent stays in your hair all day long too. Now if only I had long locks to swish around. It is a nice thick constancy and a little goes a long way. I’ve had the 100ml bottle for well over a month and I’m not even half way through. I wash my hair about every second day. It doesn’t feel instantly smooth and silky when you are in the shower because it doesn’t have the nasty stuff most conditioners have to make your hair feel that way. Once you dry your hair it feels lovely and soft.

RRP: $13.95/100ml, $23.50/250ml, $33.95/500ml

Wiccy Magic Muscle Massage Bar:

Just what tired achy muscles need. This has a very strong cinnamon/peppermint/spicy scent. it reminds me of Tiger balm a little bit. The little brown bits are aduki beans to massage the sore spot. To use this you just let it melt a little in your hands then massage into skin. It does work well, but if you have really sore achy muscles then you are probably better off using tiger balm etc. For a relaxing massage bar this is very nice.

RRP: $14.95/70g

Yes if you ask the lovely people who work at lush for a sample or two, they will oblige you. Which I love, because these are not the cheapest of products and it’s nice to know you have the right one. I tried the following:

Dark Angels Cleanser: I liked this product, but it’s really for oily skin and mine is combination. So it was a little bit too much for my skin. I would recommend this for oily skin.

RRP: $16.95/100g, $42.47/250g.

Coal Face Cleansing Soap: Much to harsh for my skin. Again this one is for oily skin. I preferred the Dark Angels Cleanser to this one. Not something I would purchase.

RRP: $15.95/100g

Blousey Shampoo: This is a gentle shampoo for damaged, fine and colour treated hair. It smells amazing. It has real bananas in it and has a very thick consistency. I can’t really describe what it smells like, kind of spicy. I liked it. I really wanted to love this shampoo, but I didn’t. I liked it. It was nice, but I think my hair is a bit on the oily side for this one. I have tried a few other Lush Shampoos since and I have liked them better. That’s just my personal preference though. This is still a good product. It just wasn’t right for my hair. If you have dry or damaged hair though, this might work for you.

RRP: $25.95/240g

Well that’s it for my first haul. Not the last time you will here me harp on about Lush though. I do like to harp on….

What about you? Have you tried any of these products from Lush? What did you think?
