Mini Haul! Lush, Body Shop & a little Clinque

So I was in the city the other day and I couldn’t help going in to my local Lush store! I also had a lot of fun wandering around the beauty counters at Myer. It probably sounds odd, but I find explore the city so rejuvenating. The way some people feel about a trip to the country. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, I love it though. Are there any other city girls out there?

Ok so while at Lush I mostly got some samples to try. Which is one of the things I love about Lush. They are happy to give you some samples and considering that their products aren’t cheap it is a good way to make sure you have the right product.

I have been wanting to try I Love Juicy for awhile but have been a little unsure because I have heard it is quite cleansing and therefore can be a bit drying. I have been trying out a few of the Lush shampoos and I will post review of all of them soon. I got Happy Hippy Shower Gel as well. I’m after a nice refreshing everyday shower gel that isn’t too overpowering. Hopefully this fits the bill.

I absolutely love Angels on Bare Skin (review to come) but I wanted to try another of the Lush cleansers so I am trying Herbalism. I am a fan of the cleansers, but I’m looking for something to use when my skin is breaking out. My skin is generally pretty clear, but I do get hormonal/stress breakouts.

I did end up buying the Honey I Washed The Kids (RRP $8.50/100g) shower gel because I have used the soap before and just loved the scent. So yummy and warm. If you haven’t used it before it smells like toffee. I got some new products to try out which are the Grease Lightning Spot Treatment (RRP $13.95) and The Dragon’s Egg Bath Bomb (RRP $5.95).

The spot treatment I am interested to see how it works. I have tried The Body Shop tea tree oil one before and I didn’t feel it did a lot. Having used the Lush cleansers and face masks before I have been impressed with how they clear my skin up. Hopefully this will work as well as they do. The bath bomb is for kicks. I haven’t tried any of the bath bombs that dramatically change the water like this one does. It just sounds fun! It smells very fruity and citrusy.

* Just a note for the Aussie’s out there (in case you didn’t already know) the girl at Lush confirmed that the Brightside Bubble Bar will be a permanent product!!! Exciting!!!

From The Body Shop I bought their Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder (RRP $28.95) in Light Matte. I saw a good review for this on YouTube and it look nice and natural in the video. Not having much luck with bronzers in the past, I though I would give this a go. While I was at the Clinique counter the lovely lady who served me put some bronzer on and I liked how it looked. This was a bit cheaper and looked like the same colour. So I will see how I go. Has any one tried either bronzer? What did you think?

I did originally go into the Body Shop to try the new BB creams they have out. When I tried them on my skin though they were SOOO dark!!! They turned my skin almost bright orange and that was the lightest shade they had! It was really disappointing. They are similar to the L’Oreal one in that they start of white and then change colour. The Tea Tree BB cream was a much better match for all you fair skinned beauties out there! I was a bit put off by the other ones though to give it a go. I did buy a little face wash cloth though.

I had a great time at the Clinique counter! I went because they had sent me an email about the new product, the Anti-Blemish Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel (RRP: from $32). I have been sick recently and my skin has just gone haywire for reasons best known to itself. Hence all the spot treatment buying. So I got a 5 day sample of the gel. You can use it as a spot treatment or just put in on your whole face as a preventive measure.

The lady that served me was fab! She ended up doing my make up as well while she chatted about the products. On my face she used the Anti- Blemish Foundation in 01 (RRP $50), Bronzer in sun kissed 02 (RRP $48) and Chubby Stick Sheer in Two Ton Tomato (RRP$35). I have to say I really liked the look (sorry no photos) and even my husband noticed when I met up with him a few hours later. So it wore pretty well too. I think I will be purchasing the foundation and I like the chubby stick too especially since it was a braver colour than I would normally wear.

That’s all from me today! Hope you enjoyed the post and you have an amazing day 🙂

Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what you thought of them.
